Prevelle Silk is an FDA-approved wrinkle filler made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the connective tissue of your skin. Prevelle Silk is an injectable wrinkle filler that works from the inside out to restore volume and give the face a more youthful appearance. Prevelle is one of the latest wrinkle fillers to include lidocaine in its composition, making your injection as comfortable as possible.

Losing fatty tissue in our faces is a normal part of aging, and the impact of significant weight loss, gravity, and over-exposure to the sun are readily apparent over the years. Each face ages in its own unique way, but gauntness, wrinkling, and vertical folds and lines on both sides of the mouth are common. Candidates for Prevelle Silk

Prevelle Silk is used for treating moderate facial wrinkles and folds. The nasolabial folds are the most common area of treatment with Prevelle Silk. Prevelle Silk may also be effective for filling out thin lips and the hollow areas around the eyes and near the top of the nose (one of the areas most prone to fat loss). In some cases it has also been used for restoring volume to the cheekbones and mid-face.

The Injection

The doctor will decide the best placement for Prevelle Silk after carefully evaluating the unique way your face is aging. Areas to be treated are numbed with a topical anesthetic to make the procedure comfortable; Prevelle Silk is then injected with a very fine needle to correct the contour irregularities present on your skin.

What to Expect after the Treatment

Results of Prevelle Silk last 3-6 months or more. Prevelle has a relatively low concentration of hylauronic acid, so its duration is typically shorter than Restylane or Juvederm. You will need touch-ups and repeat treatments to maintain the volume and wrinkle correction you desire over the years.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are effective and have proven to be very safe when administered in a medical setting by a qualified and trained doctor. Prevelle Silk offers another advantage in that you don’t need to be pre-tested for a possible allergic reaction to it, since it’s biodegradable and doesn’t contain ingredients that cause an allergic reaction in most people. Side effects from Prevelle Silk are usually minor and temporary. You may have some bruising, redness or swelling at the treatment sites for a few days. It’s not unusual for uneven swelling to occur, with one side more prominent than the other. Typically, this lasts for a couple of days before it subsides.
