Zerona in Miami, FL

Many individuals have stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Residents of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and South Florida may feel dissatisfied with their appearance and wish to have a sleeker appearance. Advances in technology during the past few years have made it possible to remove cellulite and enhance the self-confidence of many patients. Adam J. Rubinstein, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs Zerona® laser treatment at his Aventura practice.

What is the Zerona® Laser Treatment?

Zerona® laser treatment is a new, non-invasive alternative to surgical body slimming techniques like liposuction. It can take inches off your waistline or thighs in a series of quick treatments. No pain, no downtime, no surgery, no recovery. The Zerona body sculpting treatment is proven to take off inches from subcutaneous fat growths with laser emulsification Dr. Rubinstein was the first plastic surgeon in Miami to offer Zerona® treatments to his patients. Zerona® is a huge advance over the surgical method of liposuction. Liposuction is performed using a stainless steel tube and suctioning. It requires the use of local anesthesia, which confines the numbing of pain to the treatment area, or general anesthesia, which takes away the feeling of pain over the whole body. In addition, liposuction involves considerable pain and recovery time. As an alternative to liposuction, ZERONA® only requires the application of a low-level laser to the outside of the body, stimulating fat cells and emulsifying and releasing fat.

Who can Benefit from Zerona® Laser Treatment?

Anyone with excess fat in areas such as the thighs, stomach, back, upper arms or flanks, may be a good candidate for Zerona®. Any area of the body can be treated with Zerona®. Plastic surgeons have also used Zerona® before and after liposuction. The most significant benefit of Zerona® is the fact that it is non-invasive. If you don’t want to have liposuction or don’t want to take the time required for plastic surgery, Zerona® may be ideal for you. While it is not intended to replace natural weight-loss methods, it is reliable in helping individuals lose inches and decrease the amount of excess fat that their bodies are storing. Women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant should not have Zerona®. Also, there may be risks for persons with pacemakers. You should discuss these factors with Dr. Rubinstein.

What is the Zerona® Laser Treatment Procedure Like?

The Zerona® laser is five-headed so that Dr. Rubinstein can treat multiple areas simultaneously. During the procedure, you lie beneath it, and the energy causes a chemical reaction in the fat cells, causing the fat inside the cells to melt and drain through a small pore that opens. Your body is then able to remove the fat through a natural process. Most people want to treat both the front and the back, so total treatment time is an average of 45 minutes. The process is comfortable, and the laser actually stimulates your body’s natural endorphins. There is no need for anesthesia of any kind. A series of six treatments is required.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?

Because you want the fat to metabolize as effectively as possible, before and after your Zerona® treatment you’ll need to exercise, stay hydrated and abstain from alcohol to get the most satisfying results. Post-procedure checkups will include measurement of the treated areas to evaluate your results. In studies of Zerona®, patients lost an average of more than three inches of circumference from the waist, hips and thighs. In Dr. Rubinstein’s experience, patients have lost between four to five inches on average.

How Much Does the Zerona® Laser Treatment Cost?

Most health insurance providers will not provide coverage for the costs of Zerona®. To make your procedure more affordable, Dr. Rubinstein proudly offers financing options for all of his patients. His office also accepts cash, personal checks, and credit cards. If you are not satisfied with how you look, it might be appropriate for you to consider getting Zerona® laser treatment.
