It’s time to stop feeling insecure or embarrassed about your genital area. Labiaplasty is a cosmetic procedure to correct large or irregular labia. Board-certified plastic surgeon Adam J. Rubinstein, M.D., F.A.C.S., is proud to offer labiaplasty to the residents of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and South Florida at his Aventura office.
What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic procedure designed to treat enlarged or asymmetric labia minor on a woman’s body. Labiaplasty can improve symmetry and contour, improve self-confidence, and maintain all sensation in the region.
What is the Labiaplasty Procedure Like?
Labiaplasty is typically done on an outpatient basis, and patients may have local or general anesthesia. Dr. Rubinstein will speak with each patient to understand their goals for the results of the labiaplasty prior to the operation. For the procedure, he will reduce excess tissue and achieve symmetry and a natural shape to the labia minora. Dr. Rubinstein will place dissolvable sutures to maintain the formed contours and promote healthy healing. The entire procedure typically takes no longer than two hours. Patients may experience slight discomfort or swelling for weeks following the procedure and can appreciate the full results after a few months.
Who is a Strong Candidate for Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a great option for individuals bothered by protruding, large, or asymmetric labia minora. Some individuals may seek the procedure for cosmetic reasons while some individuals site discomfort in clothing, exercising, or complications with hygiene as the main concern. If patients have additional concerns regarding their vaginal region or sexual intercourse, Dr. Rubinstein may suggest the ThermiVa™ treatment in addition to or instead of labiaplasty.
How Much Does Labiaplasty Cost in Miami, FL?
Although very beneficial for patients, labiaplasty is not a medical procedure and, therefore, is unlikely to be covered by insurance. To make payment more reasonable for everyone, Dr. Rubinstein developed a financing program for all of his patients.
What is ThermiVa™?
ThermiVa™ is a non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedure. Dr. Rubinstein was the first in Florida to offer the ThermiVa™ procedure to patients and is still the only doctor performing the procedure in the Miami area. ThermiVa™ uses a radiofrequency device to treat the following conditions in a fast and painless way with thermal heating:
How Does ThermiVa™ Work?
ThermiVa™ is typically done in a series of three treatments every three to four weeks. ThermiVa™ treatment involves warming the temperature of the vaginal tissue and labia. A special applicator is gently moved over the labia and inner tissue heating the surface slowly. Stimulation of tissue results in increased collagen production and tightening of the tissue. No anesthesia is needed. Patients experince no pain and have no downtime whatsoever. While full results take more than one treatment appointment, many patients notice improvement after just one visit.
Who is a Strong Candidate for ThermiVa™?
Women experiencing vaginal laxity, mild to moderate incontinence (leaky bladder), sexual dysfunction, trouble with achieving orgasms, and vaginal dryness are strong candidates for ThermiVa™ treatments. Because it is non-invasive, and the technology is widely used, there are very little side effects to the treatment. In fact, the FDA cleared the treatment as a safe, non-invasive procedure for vaginal laxity.
